iPhone appCharity-Shop-Locator iPhone app

We have teamed up with a promoter of vintage clothing fairs to create a series of applications for smartphones, showing the location of all the vintage and charity shops in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Users can search via postcode, town or their current location; shops will then appear as a list or as markers on a map. We’re hoping that this will bring more shoppers to your doors, encourage charity shop tourism, and generally generate more interest in buying second-hand.

The iPhone app is now available for purchase from the iTunes store, priced at £1.19: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/blind-lemon/id392497191

All our members' shops should be visible on the app, and we will be in regular contact with Blind Lemon to update them with our database, as outlets open, move and close. If we have missed anyone out, please do let us know. There is a Report a Shop feature as part of the app, where you can say if a shop’s details need changing, but it’s just as easy to contact Isabelle – Keeper of the Shops Database – directly: projects@charityshops.org.uk or 020 7255 4477.

The Find a Charity Shop database is one of the most popular pages on our website, and we know people use it to find out where they can donate, shop and volunteer. It would be great if this shop locator app could take off in the same way.
