Anita Dobson to open new Thames Hospice Homestore in Maidenhead
Thames Hospice is delighted to announce their Patron, star of stage and screen Anita Dobson, will cut the ribbon on its new Maidenhead Homestore. After five years of successful trading in Reform Road, Thames Hospice Homestore will be moving to a much bigger home in Boyn Valley Road, Maidenhead.
The grand opening will take place at Boyn Valley Road, Maidenhead on Wednesday 4 December at 11am. Transformation of the new Homestore is well underway and the team are now starting to put the final touches to the new store.
Julie Rowley, Director of Retail at Thames Hospice, explains, “We are so excited to be moving and thrilled Anita Dobson is opening our wonderful new home in Boyn Valley Road.
“We are very grateful to the Maidenhead community for their loyal support over the last five years. This amazing encouragement has meant we have now outgrown our home in Reform Road. We are delighted to have found a new space in Maidenhead, less than a ten minute drive from our current home.
“Our new Homestore is almost double in size and will allow us to offer a wider range of preloved and upcycled furniture with a wealth of homeware from lamps, vases, pictures to electricals, kitchenware and crockery.
“Sustainable charity shopping is at the heart of everything we do and we have ensured our popular ‘Home Studio’ will also be moving to Boyn Valley Road, providing our ever popular range of upcycled furniture.
“The new Homestore will also host a large children’s zone with toys, games and books as well as ample parking and a small coffee shop, serving tea, coffee and cake.
“Our move is very ambitious and moving to somewhere much bigger brings new opportunities. We will need additional volunteers for a variety of different roles and we are looking for preloved items of furniture and homeware to fill our immense new home.”
