Blythe House Hospice open new store in heart of Matlock

Blythe House Hospice opened a new store in the heart of Matlock on Saturday 3rd August, with members of the public invited to attend the celebrations.

Offering high-quality goods such as ladieswear, menswear and homewares, kindly donated by the local community, the new shop, located at 5 Bank Road, will be open seven days a week.

Hospice Retail Manager Marie Brown says, ‘We are delighted to be able to expand our retail offer into the Matlock area. By shopping with us our customers will help raise vital funds for services that Blythe House Hospice provide free of charge to people affected by life-limiting illness across North Derbyshire.’

Blythe House Hospice provides care for those with life-limiting illnesses in the comfort of their own home through their Hospice at Home and Roaming Car services that are there to support patients and their families in Matlock and across the whole of North Derbyshire.

The new shop will also serve as a base for Blythe House Hospice’s Roaming Car service nurses and healthcare assistants in the Matlock area, to help support reaching more patients who have an urgent need overnight.

The new shop is being supported by a fantastic team of volunteers, and more help would be very welcome.

Marie says: ‘The incredible funds we raise through our charity shops across North Derbyshire would not be possible without the amazing support we get from our dedicated volunteers.

‘Our volunteers vary from all ages and come from all walks of life, but that’s what makes out team so great! They do not need any retail experience as training is provided. We have a range of roles available and look forward to welcoming more members to our team.’
