Celebrating the partnership between British fashion house, Vivienne Westwood, and Royal Trinity Hospice shops
A Vivienne Westwood takeover event held at the Kensington branch of Royal Trinity Hospice charity shops saw customers travel from across the UK and led to thousands raised for the hospice, thanks to a collection of donations from the British design house.
Lucky shoppers who managed to snap up one of the limited tickets for the event had access to curated pieces from the Vivienne Westwood archive and Autumn-Winter 2023/24 collections. Donations included ready-to-wear items, accessories and elegant bridal gowns, with the partnership ensuring a second life was given to these special garments.
The event is the first of its kind between Royal Trinity Hospice and Vivienne Westwood.
The event raised over £12,000 in just two hours thanks to customers and supporters who had queued outside in anticipation of finding something truly unique.
One customer was brought to tears in her excitement of fulfilling a lifelong wish for a Vivienne Westwood coat, whilst another described the event as the ‘most unique in thirty years of charity shop shopping.’
Nicola Jibson, Head of Merchandise and Sustainability at Royal Trinity Hospice said: “Royal Trinity Hospice shops have become well-known among sustainable, savvy and stylish shoppers across London for our stunning shops and incredible stock. We were thrilled to welcome new and returning customers to this very special event and totally blown away by how much we raised on the first night of the takeover. We are so grateful to the team at Vivienne Westwood for making this happen, supporting the raising of funds for our hospice and sharing our commitment to slower, more conscious fashion.”
Vivienne Westwood team, said: “We are honoured to partner with Royal Trinity Hospice and to be able to support them with the vital fundraising they need.
It’s been a real pleasure to work with their team on this event and we look forward to coming together soon on more projects.”

The funds raised from the takeover will go on to support free, end of life and palliative care to Londoners living across seven of the capital’s boroughs. The hospice must raise around £13m annually to support around 2,800 patients and their family members every year and supplement NHS contributions.
Royal Trinity Charity shops are located on 22 high streets across central and south west London, raising around £6.6m annually, thanks to the quality of donations and customer support. In addition to re-selling high-quality preloved donations from individuals across the community, Royal Trinity Hospice shops regularly partner with some of fashion’s most recognisable brands to raise additional funds and support their corporate sustainability commitments.
