Emma Cramner, Alex Angelakis and Irina Preda

Charity Retail Association beats transfer window deadline with three new signings

Today we welcomed the third new employee to start since the New Year! We are now up to our full staff complement and are ready to serve you our members with ever-increasing efficiency. I hope you will join with me in wishing our new members of staff all the very best in their new posts. They are (in order of joining):

Emma Cranmer who is pioneering a new post for us: Research Administrator. Emma’s job is to assist Olaia Alamos Castresana in all aspects of our research activity, including promoting our research, chasing responses, and processing and analysing data. Emma has a background in data analysis and research with Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Irina Preda is our new Administrator, having taken over from Gemma Gittens who left due to relocation. Irina will be working with Susan Meredith to handle member enquiries and database related tasks, and will also have responsibility for some event management activities, as well as running our office. Irina comes to us from the Resource for London, where she was running event co-ordination within our very own building.

Alex Angelakis joins us to provide maternity cover for our Head of Events, Julia Cloke. Alex has an extensive background in event management for training company Government Knowledge, and he will be tasked with running our events programme, including annual Exhibition and Conference, with the same level of efficiency and effectiveness as Julia. No pressure there then.

And whilst I write, I must offer a profuse apology to Mark Chapman for failing to blog about his arrival. Mark joined us in July last year as our new Communications and Campaigns Executive, replacing Amy Walshe who left after her maternity leave. Mark has made a significant impact already, and has focused extensively on improving our social media activity, with more than a four-fold increase in twitter traffic and rising engagement across all channels. Sorry Mark, no neglect intended!

So our team continues to develop and all our newcomers look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at future events.
