Sense are currently recruiting for an Area Manager to join our successful Retail team, working 37.5 hours per week, full time.

In this role you will be responsible for developing our presence within the South Central Area. You will be actively involved in the planning and opening of new shops as we continue to grow across locations including Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex. Dependent upon growth of new locations could also assimilate some of Gloucestershire and Dorset areas. With this role you will working towards establishing new shop for the first period so there is potential that for up to a year this role will not have many direct report shops while we select units and therefore the successful candidates would be required to support other new shop openings and focus shops across the country, so until area build commences and establishes a number of shops would be a national role.

Each year, over four million people buy items from us, so our shops play a pivotal role in raising funds to make a difference to those who find it difficult to communicate and connect with the world.

As our Area Manager, you will line manage Shop Managers, Assistant Shop Managers and Shop Assistants. You will lead in the effective generation and control of stock within the area to ensure each shop achieves its full sales potential.

As you will be visiting our shops across the locality, you will be provided with a company car and fuel card, with all business mileage covered.

Key skills and experience
With a strong background in retail management, our ideal candidate will have project management skills and multi-site experience. You will be confident managing budgets and accounts within a commercial or charity retail environment.

It’s essential that you have excellent communication skills with the ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

A full UK driving licence is an essential requirement for this role.
