George Thomas Hospice Care (GTHC) is the major provider of specialist home based palliative care for Cardiff and Cardiff’s local hospice. We help over 1,000 patients plus their families every year, and all of our services are provided free of charge. As a charity we must raise the bulk of our £1.4m costs each year.
We are looking for an assistant charity shop manager to help us develop our retail portfolio, initially on a 2 year fixed term contract.
You will be expected to support our shop managers and achieve challenging sales targets, help recruit and effectively manage a team of volunteers, promote local awareness of the charity, generate sufficient good quality donations, promote customer service excellence and maintain high standards throughout our shops at all times. You will be expected to provide support at units across our portfolio so flexibility is essential, as is the ability to drive and having access to your own vehicle.
Above all, you’ll make sure that the shop is a fun and fulfilling place to work. Your personality, resilience, sense of humour and ability to get on with people from all walks of life will be top of our list!
