Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Assistant Shop Manager to work in our Belper charity shop.  You will be working 22.5 hours per week, but overtime is to be expected.

In this role, you will assist with the management of our original charity shop on the award-winning high street of Belper, Derbyshire.

The role involves both creativity and a keen eye for trends, as well as scope for demonstrating your skills in organisational management and team building. You will help empower our team of volunteers to be ambassadors of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, and engage with the local community to turn donations of pre-loved items into sales and income for the charity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring excellent customer service and building brand loyalty from customers, donors, and volunteers.
  • Supporting in achieving maximum sales, ensuring all stock is well presented, and that our visual merchandising is on trend and relevant to our market.
  • Actively encouraging donations from the public and working to increase the shop’s volume of stock.
  • Assisting in the recruitment and training of volunteers to expand our team.
  • Managing the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager and providing necessary holiday and sickness cover.

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a basic DBS check as this role involves regularly working with people under 18 and vulnerable adults.
