Job description:
The Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the shop and delivering sales/profit targets through the effective management and motivation of the shop team and managing the delivery schedule for the driver.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in retail and of working at a managerial or supervisory level with a good general education.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of the shop premises, including main key holder.
  • To ensure the shop is open during expected opening times.
  • Ensure all health, safety and security policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Overall management of day to day finances and administration.
  • Submitting weekly financial returns to the Finance & Property Manager.
  • Ensure that all sales targets and results are communicated to the Team and that the Team understand and are working to meet/exceed the agreed targets.
  • Provide a high quality service, exceeding customers’ expectations.
  • Plan and organise daily work load throughout the shop to ensure efficient customer service and a profitable operation.
  • Continually review the rotation, quality and replenishment of stock to maximise sales.
  • To proactively recruit volunteers and provide training in areas related to business needs, so that they realise their full sales potential and contribute to shop performance.
  • To effectively plan work placement and volunteer cover so that the shop is adequately covered at all times.
  • To ensure that all volunteers/work placements are made aware of, and adhere to, health and safety guidelines and manual handling of stock requirements.
  • To ensure the shop is clean and uncluttered at all times.
  • To work closely with our driver to ensure the cost effective use of drivers time for deliveries, collections and PAT testing.
  • Provide direction and support to shop staff to actively promote Gift Aid to maximise contributions from donations.
  • To ensure that goods on display are visually attractive, using the best space possible and promote seasonally appropriate merchandise and windowed themes.
  • To continually review the rotation, quality and replenishment of stock in order to maximize sales.
  • Submitting quarterly reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly; Monday to Saturday

Annual Leave: 30 days inclusive of Bank Holidays pro rata
