Can you style a fashion outfit from thrifty finds? What about having an eye for vintage items and antiques? We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and motivated individual to join our retail team and manage our two shops in Marlborough. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and to make a real contribution to maximising income for the Hospice.
At Prospect Hospice we provide vital end of life care to patients living with a life limiting illness. We also support their families and loved ones through their difficult journeys. The care we provide makes an immeasurable difference and it’s all totally free of charge to patients. But, as a local charity, we need to raise vital income to enable us to care for more people in our community. And that’s where this role comes in.
What is the role?
You will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of our two shops in Marlborough. You will manage two assistant managers and a volunteer team to achieve agreed sales targets, actively promote gift aid and maximise income generation. You will effectively manage and display stock in order to maximise footfall and sales, contribute to the development of ideas for new promotions and other improvements to retail practice.
You will have full responsibility for both shops and positively promote and support the aims and values of the hospice. In return, you’ll be rewarded with an interesting role, a supportive culture that encourages a healthy work-life balance and you’ll be part of a caring, positive and friendly retail team.
- Proven retail experience
- Team player with a flexible approach
- Excellent customer service and organisational skills
- Proven line management experience, ideally gained in the retail or voluntary sectors
- Thorough understanding of target driven accountabilities
- Must hold a driving license and have access to car, and be prepared to cover other shops when needed.
It would also be great if you have:
- Experience of stock control management
- Product display design and cash management
- Trading standards and health and safety requirements
- An understanding of charity/voluntary based sectors would be beneficial
For an informal discussion and information about the role please contact Tracy Duff, Retail Team Leader on 07779 299734
