Job Description

The British Heart Foundation is the largest charity retailer with over 730 shops across the UK. The income generated from Gift Aid on stock donations has become an increasingly important part of our retail performance across both our fashion shops and furniture and electrical stores.

About the role

We are recruiting a Gift Aid Administrator to work alongside the Retail Gift Aid Manager and look after the day-to-day administration of our Gift Aid systems. Fully conversant with the HMRC guidelines you will understand the scale and pace of the retail operation and ensure that our Gift Aid scheme and claims are compliant with HMRC guidelines, maximising the value of each donor.

This role will also ensure that our Gift Aid scheme is managed in the most cost effective way, ensuring that all office procedures are current with operational activity and documents. You’ll build strong relationships with colleagues throughout the business ensuring we provide robust information and advice as required. 

About you

With strong communication skills you will build strong and lasting relationships with colleagues in key departments of the business to ensure we provide useful and informative information and advice on Gift Aid.

You will have strong IT skills and be competent in MS Excel. Previous experience & knowledge of using databases and report writing is essential as you’ll be responsible for providing reports to the Senior and Field Management teams to help analyse current performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to structure your work to ensure key deadlines are met are essential as well as the ability to remain flexible to meet changing demands within the team.
