Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and motivated mobile manager to join our retail team to work across all of our 17 shops, providing cover for busy periods and staff absences. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and to make a real contribution to maximising income for the Hospice.

At Prospect Hospice we provide vital end of life care to patients living with a life limiting illness. We also support their families and loved ones through their difficult journeys. The care we provide makes an immeasurable difference and it’s all totally free of charge to patients. But, as a local charity, we need to raise vital income to enable us to care for more people in our community. And that’s where this role comes in.

What is the role?
The mobile manager will provide long or short term cover/support for shop management and staff and will work across all of our 17 shops to provide cover as required, to support the hosting of pop-up shops and the online shop team.

You will be responsible for the security of the shop premises, the stock held and accountable for the takings and complying with the prescribed banking procedures. When covering shops you will full take responsibility for all daily operations through the effective supervision of volunteers and your ability to manage and display stock in order to maximise footfall and sales. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of ideas for new promotions and other improvements to retail practice.

In return, you’ll be rewarded with an interesting role, a supportive culture that encourages a healthy work-life balance and you’ll be part of a caring, positive and friendly retail team.

About you:

  • Proven retail experience
  • Team player with a flexible approach
  • Excellent customer service and organisational skills
  • Thorough understanding of target driven accountabilities
  • Must hold a driving license and have access to car, and be prepared to travel throughout the catchment area (Swindon, Marlborough, Pewsey, Wootton Bassett, Cricklade and Highworth)

It would also be great if you have:

  • Experience of stock control management
  • Product display design and cash management
  • Trading standards and health and safety requirements
  • Proven line management experience, ideally gained in the retail or voluntary sectors
  • An understanding of charity/voluntary based sectors would be beneficial
