Job description:
We are recruiting for the role of Retail Manager within the Shops team. Through effective leadership the job holder will be responsible for increasing sales and profitability within the shops to agreed targets. They will be accountable for the delivery of exceptional commercial standards and operational compliance throughout all shops and ensuring the development of shop staff and volunteers, whilst managing within agreed budgets.
The position requires someone who has:
- Proven experience in the retail trade
- Previous supervisory experience ideally with experience of managing multi-site teams within retail environment
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, retail and the law
- Experience of maximising sales and profit through commercial decision making whilst demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to change
- Excellent people management and leadership skills with a proven track record of developing and motivating teams
- Ability to deliver strong profit and loss performance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Can demonstrate good organisational skills and report writing ability
- Full driving licence and use of a properly insured vehicle during working hours
The post is based from the Hartford offices with regular travel required across Cheshire.

Hours of work are full time 36.25 hours per week, which will normally be worked over 5 days Monday to Sunday, depending on retail requirements.
Flexibility is required to ensure that regular shop visits are made between standard opening hours Monday to Saturday.
The role will require working over the Christmas period and potentially bank holiday hours.
