Leeds Hospitals Charity is proud to support Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The Trust comprises seven hospitals and a dental institute, including Leeds General Infirmary, St James University Hospital, Leeds Children’s Hospital and Leeds Cancer Centre.

This new role of Retail Manager will be varied and challenging but equally rewarding. With no two days the same, your role will involve leading and motivating a team predominantly made up of volunteers to provide exceptional standards of customer service
You will develop and encourage the team’s interest in merchandising the shop to attract customers and supporters. You will also develop the team’s knowledge of the impact Leeds Hospitals Charity has on the hospitals in our region so we can inform supporters within the shop.
You will engage with the local community to build strong relationships with other retailers, schools and churches to raise the visibility of the charity.
The role also includes everyday tasks including maintaining visual merchandising, accepting donations, serving customers and assisting team members.
Your success is measured by team and individual productivity as well as overall shop performance. You will be proud to represent Leeds Hospitals Charity, and you’ll get great satisfaction from helping customers and supporters develop lifelong relationships with us.
The successful candidate will have retail experience at supervisor/managerial level with a proven track record of recruiting and developing a diverse team made up of employees and volunteers.
With the ability to deliver great customer experiences in any environment, you will be invigorated by constant personal interaction. You will have strong communication skills and experience of working with small groups and individual customers.
Often the only paid member of staff, our managers are comfortable in this environment, really enjoy working with others and are great at delegating to their teams. Excellent communicators, they are creative, and always look for opportunities to attract new supporters every day.
