Job description:

About the role:
As Retail Manager, you will jointly lead the Retail Team (staff and volunteers) to continued success.  You will be responsible for managing, motivating and developing our Bookshops Managers and Team Leaders so that income from our existing portfolio of shops across the UK continues to grow (with online selling a key part of this strategy).  During the next few months we will complete the restructure of the retail team – which has ensured there is more resource at shop level and will be finalising our budget for 2020.  During 2020 our focus will be building on these foundations and rolling out Gift Aid across our shops. Together with driving our income forward.  So, this is an incredibly exciting time to join us.

About you:
You will have proven experience of running a multi-site retail operation to deliver results, ideally within the charity sector. With joint responsibility for the line management of four staff (and a wider team which includes a further 7 members of staff and over 300 volunteers), you will have a passion for people management, and inspire those that work with you to be high achievers.  You will be organised, highly efficient and a problem solver with a good understanding of all aspects of managing a successful retail operation. And with this being a job share role, you will have the attributes to work alongside your job share partner to create a seamless operation and ensure that the team and operation continues to be led successfully.

About us:
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our global network of seven million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. Whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
