Job Description

Our shops play a vital role in raising the essential funds for our Charity and currently we have entered an exciting time where we are growing our retail department. 

Each shop is its own little treasure trove and unique community hub, with our brilliant shop volunteers keeping donations sorted, tidied and flying off the shelves.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is now looking for our next Retail Support Manager to join this amazing team and to be a part of the rewarding cause that we all work for: making every moment count in the lives of others

You will work closely with the Head of Retail to provide management support, to a designated number of shops, ensuring that company policies are implemented, and that sales and profit are maximised.

You will be an ambassador and advocate for the mission and values of ARHC and thereby to promote and raise the profile of the Charity.

You will also create and manage staff rotas as well as  support the Head of Retail with relevant training and performance management to support and coach staff to maximise their effectiveness.

We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • Charity shop management experience of administration /back office organisation
  • Experience of supervising employees/ volunteers
  • Experience of training
  • Understanding of shop financial reports
  • Effective product knowledge to maximise sales potential
  • Competent with the use of excel, word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Flexible with working hours/ days

Please note our shops operate 7 days per week, therefore, you will be working on a shift basis and expect to work some weekends.

The salary quoted is based on full time hours and needs to be pro-rata’d for part time posts. We regret that we are unable to negotiate salary above the maximum stated within the advert
