Do you have a professional background in marketing, either charity/commercial or agency side, plus a proven track record of delivering creative marketing campaigns using online and offline channels? Then join Shelter as Senior Marketing Manager – Retail and you could soon be playing a key role in garnering support for our work via our charity shops.

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change — with individuals, in communities, across society – and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

About the Role

We have just over 90 charity shops in England and Scotland. Each generates unrestricted income to fund our vital work. They’re also our face on the high street, representing us in local communities and playing an important role in spreading the message of our work and campaigns. Your challenge will be to develop and lead a Retail Marketing strategy and activity for existing shops and new shop openings. And, you’ll need to do so whilst ensuring that online and offline shop communications reflect and protect our brand. Along the way, you’ll get to manage multiple projects and complex stakeholder relationships in order to achieve the best results. Selling in to senior management, influencing area managers, directing digital & creative teams, managing external agencies and leading the rollout to shops – all are aspects of this high profile role.

About you

It’s a great opportunity for someone with a strategic mind set, a thirst for innovation and bags of creativity, who is also prepared to roll their sleeves up. An excellent people and project manager, you’re used to devising, leading and implementing a marketing strategy. You also have a track record of delivering work across the full channel mix. What’s more, you’re highly motivated and have what it takes to drive awareness of our shops, deliver a comprehensive programme to generate stock and volunteers and maximise opportunities within shops and the community. Above all, you’re passionate about making a difference and helping more people who are struggling with bad housing or homelessness.
