Today, a group of Voluntary and Community organisations wrote a letter to the Prime Minister to request that government assistance is ramped up, in this time of crisis. In the letter, they remind the PM that “now is the worst time to close a hospice, or reduce our volunteer mobilisation capacity. Now is the worst time to lay people off who will help to protect our NHS by reducing demands upon it”, and that these organisations will need more support in order to help the country through this difficult time.
The letter can be read here.
Urgent action is needed today to build public and political pressure on the government, and the window of opportunity to change this may be closing fast. Hence the #EveryDayCounts campaign. What can you do to help?
