#GoodCauseSantaClaus step 1: Buy cards direct from charities
Buy your Christmas cards direct from charities online
Let’s pull together this Christmas and be a #GoodCauseSantaClaus. We can help charities during this second lockdown by purchasing Christmas cards online direct from charities.
Figures released by John Lewis state that online card sales are up by over 200%. This is supported by the latest Google data, which shows that the Covid crisis has brought a rise in demand for Christmas cards, with 2020 already well above 2019.
As many fundraising activities have ground to a halt, charities have still had to step up and further help those in need, putting them under extra pressure, with limited budgets. This second lockdown, covering the vital festive trading period, will worsen the financial situation for many charities.
The feeling of warmth and comfort from receiving a tangible, personal card from a loved one has resonated in this difficult year, and sending a card purchased direct from a charity delivers even more of an impact, providing support for charities who so need the crucial income.
Cards for Good Causes is the UK’s largest charity Christmas card retailer via 150 UK pop-up shops and online sales. Jeremy Lune, their CEO says: “Buying charity Christmas cards is one of the simplest ways to support good causes this festive season. The proceeds from every card or product sold make a vital contribution to the work of the charities that we support. Many of our charities have not been able to source an income from their usual events this year so buying a card or gift from us is a way of giving them that vital funding that many of them so desperately need this year. We are really seeing people wanting Christmas to lift everyone’s spirits. It’s great that we can be a part of that.”
