Inspiring ‘Mothers and Others’ in thoughtful window display

Take a look at the fantastic window of Society of Saint Vincent de Paul’s Kircubbin store! It embraces International Women’s Day (8th March) and Mother’s Day (22nd March) to celebrate women, but also thoughtfully acknowledges the women and men that miss out on Mother’s Day – those that don’t or can’t have children, have lost children, have lost mothers, and single dads.

Store manager, Tracy Scott-Stewart, embraced the theme (pictured below) in her Wonder Woman outfit, posting on Facebook, garnering strong engagement. Tracy is the manager of 3 SVP stores in Kircubbin, and wanted to inspire people with her creative shop window. She said “it’s so important to me to recognise those that miss out on Mother’s Day, which is what inspired my ‘Mothers and Others’ poster. Strength comes in many different guises and the window aims to celebrate all.” Tracy and her staff have created hampers from donated stock and are running an amazing raffle.

“Footfall has increased and we’ve had a lot of positive feedback on the window”, Tracy added. The store was a Finalist for the ‘Charity Shop of the Year’ Award in last year’s Charity Retail Awards and is going from strength to strength.
