Love Island Star dresses locals sustainably in support of hospice charity

Essex Love Island Star Francesca Allen paid a special visit to a Leigh charity shop boutique to style customers in support of Havens Hospices.

Francesca, 26, who starred in 2019’s series of the hit TV show dropped into the charity’s Re:loved by Havens Hospices store in Leigh-on-sea, Essex to help style customers with stylish preloved clothes straight off the rails in store. 

Sustainable and vintage fashion lover Francesca, who also owns her own clothing boutique in Loughton, was welcomed in style by customers proving that sustainable and second-hand fashion can be stylish and desirable.

She also made some purchases herself and brought along some of her own unwanted clothes to be resold in the boutique to help raise money for the hospice charity which cares for people of all ages living with incurable conditions across Essex.

After her visit, Francesca said: “I had a lovely evening at the Re:loved store. I have shopped in charity shops ever since I was young and I’ve always found some fantastic items. I was able to find so many amazing outfits to style for some lovely customers and even found some gorgeous hats for myself! Not only can you find some great quality and stylish clothes in charity shops but by making purchases you’re also supporting the environment and a local charity at the same time.”

Jo Polkinghorn, Re:loved by Havens Hospices Shop Manager said, “It was absolutely incredible to be able to host Francesca Allen in our shop. She was a huge hit with customers who were ecstatic to have her styling them with affordable, stylish preloved clothing. Every purchase and donation made within our shops helps the charity continue to care for families who rely on our specialist hospice care when they have been told there is no cure and we can’t thank Fran enough.”

Open seven days a week, the store provides a sustainable shopping experience for fans of preloved and vintage fashion, with a dedicated womenswear boutique in one room and in the other a menswear selection alongside homeware and childrenswear.
