NEBOSH donates health and safety course books to Charities Retail Association

Health and Safety charity, NEBOSH has gifted the Charity Retail Association 340 NEBOSH course books that have been sent to over 30 UK-based charities. Some of these charities include Acorns Children’s Hospice, East Anglian Cancer Charity, Big C, Age UK Trafford and St Luke’s Hospice Basildon & Thurrock.

NEBOSH has recently made changes to its Health and Safety at Work Qualification and Safety Simplified course. This meant that a stock of unused course books were available, both of which still provided relevant content that gives readers introductory health and safety knowledge.

By making the donation, NEBOSH hopes that fellow charities will be able to share knowledge with their workers and volunteers, making sure they remain healthy and safe.

Jane Ashby, Head of Content Development at NEBOSH said,
“The content in the books was still useful and relevant, so rather than recycle them, we looked for opportunities to give them to organisations that might benefit.”

Alex Angelakis, Member Services Manager from Charity Retail Association said,
We’re very thankful to NEBOSH for offering to provide these textbooks to charities and helping to support best practice and high standard across the charity retail sector.”

Retail Operations Manager at Big C, Suzanne Comaskey said,
“We are very grateful to NEBOSH and the Charity Retail Association for the donation of the books. They contain very useful health and safety information and will provide useful reference for the charity.”

There are still copies of the Health and Safety at Work Award and Safety Simplified course books available for donation. If you feel like these would be beneficial for your charity, please email publications@nebosh.org.uk expressing your interest.
