More about the role
Blue Cross is one of the UK’s leading animal welfare organisations. We have over 50 charity shops throughout England and Wales.
Our generous supporters donate a mixture of clothes, books, toys, household goods and soft furnishings that we sell in our shops and online. You will be working closely with the Shop Manager in the day-to-day management of the shop; generating donations; display and merchandising; managing stock deliveries and collections; record keeping and cash handling.
An important part of your role will be recruiting, training, motivating, managing, and supporting a loyal and committed team of volunteers.
You will enjoy the freedom of working with the Shop Manager to set the direction of your shop at a local level. So being bored is not an option!
Your normal working pattern may change each week, subject to the needs of the business and the levels of staff and volunteers available to work and will involve a significant element of weekend working.
Due to the nature of the role this may involve some lone working and you may be required to work additional hours to cover for the Shop Manager and therefore flexibility is essential.
