How Textiles 2030 supports the charity sector
Textiles 2030 is the UK’s leading voluntary initiative supporting businesses and organisations within the fashion and textiles industry to transition to more sustainable and circular practices by the end of the decade.
Textiles 2030 can support the charity sector by:
- Helping you to calculate your business’ environmental footprint and the savings made through resale and measuring the displacement rate of circular business models
- Informing and helping you to get ahead of upcoming legislation
- Taking part in cross-industry discussions on the future of circular business models, increasing textile recycling and scaling pre-loved fashion
- Supporting you to partner with other signatories to run pilots or trials
- Influencing brands and retailers
- Showing leadership in the sector
- Providing access to exclusive citizen research and campaigns
Textiles 2030 already have a number of charities signed up, such as The British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Oxfam, Newlife, The Salvation Army and many more!
Charity signatory requirements:
- Mandatory requirements – yearly submission of incoming textiles tonnage data to Textiles 2030. This data enables Textiles 2030 to track and communicate progress against the Textiles 2030 targets with the wider industry and the UK Government, and informs our future direction, so that they can take action in the most impactful places.
- Optional requirements – taking part in specific projects, stakeholder interviews, attending textiles 2030’s Annual Summit, case studies and pilot participation.
