The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop 2024

We are delighted to announce that the following twelve charity shops have taken the title of area winner in The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Awards. The shops, based in each of the nine English regions, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, were chosen by the public after being shortlisted from more than 6,500 public nominations.  

Area winners 

• East of England: St Helena Books, Brew and Boutique shop in Colchester 
• East Midlands: The Air Ambulance Service shop in Melton Mowbray 
• London: Royal Trinity Hospice shop in Fulham 
• North East: Tynedale Hospice At Home shop in Hexham 
• Northern Ireland: British Red Cross shop in Derry 
• North West: Bolton Hospice shop in Bolton 
• Scotland: Highland Hospice shop in Thurso 
• South East: Shooting Star Children’s Hospices shop in Godalming 
• South West: St Peter’s Hospice shop in Bristol 
• Wales: Wales Air Ambulance shop in Swansea 
• West Midlands: Acorns Children’s Hospice shop in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield 
• Yorkshire: The Children’s Air Ambulance Service shop in Doncaster

We have been overwhelmed by the response to this award. The volume of support has been beyond anything we could have hoped for and not only demonstrates the public’s passion for their favourite stores but really highlights what these wonderful organisations mean to the local community. Lots of fun had at our recent 25^th anniversary gala dinner – photos below

We were delighted to be joined by members far and wider at our recent 25^th anniversary gala dinner at Haberdasher’s Hall in London on 19 November. As well as crowning our inaugural UK’s favourite charity shop, congratulations again to The Air Ambulance Service shop in Melton Mowbray, we also heard from Jen Graham, charity shop girl, had a lovely piano accompanied drinks reception and a fantastic three course meal.
